Councilman Michael Barbier
Wheaton's East District Councilman (2017 - Current)
Mike was born and raised in Wheaton, Illinois. He attended CUSD 200 schools from Kindergarten through High School.
What makes Wheaton special is our emphasis on Family, Faith, & Education. We attract residents who understand that Raising a Family is The Most Important Part of Life. Which is why he moved back to Wheaton to raise his family here (Wife and 2 young boys).
Mike wants to ensure that the next generation of Wheaton children have the chance to achieve their dreams and grow can up in a safe, healthy, and loving City.
Over Educated (just being honest)
Michael went to Lincoln, Edison, and WWS High School before earning the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering - Purdue University
- Master of Science in Civil Engineering - Purdue University
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) - University of Chicago
Engineering Expertise
Michael is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois and is an expert in the Design, Construction, and Maintenance of Public Infrastructure.
As the only Engineer on the City Council, Michael is working to enhance our existing assets and address Wheaton's lingering infrastructure issues.
